Equipment isn't titled the way a road vehicle is, so there's no state title to wait for and no DMV involved. Your ownership rests on the documents we send you through DocuSign once payment clears:
- Bill of Sale — the document that transfers ownership to you, identifying the machine by serial number with the hour meter reading recorded.
- Invoice — your paid record of the purchase, which is also what your accountant will want.
- Manufacturer's Statement of Origin — where one exists for the machine.
Keep the Bill of Sale safe: on equipment it does the job a title does on a car, and it's what you'll be asked for if you ever finance, insure, rent out or resell the machine.
